For CSUF Student Organizations

Cal State Fullerton is a remarkable institution and we are all well-served by protecting and advancing its image and reputation.

The guidance provided on CSUF Brand Central was developed for university employees, but our registered student organizations can benefit from the resources provided within CSUF Brand Central. These resources will ensure consistency in your efforts and the university’s image.

University Name

Use of the university name is legally protected under California law. Only registered student organizations may use the university name in conjunction with their organization's name in presenting themselves as recognized members of the Titan community on publications, websites, social media, apparel, and other communications.

University Logo and Marks

Use of the university logo or other university marks by a registered student organization must be cleared through the university's Strategic Communications and Brand Management (StratComm) via In making your request, you will need to inform StratComm of the intended use of the logo. For example, an organization may want to use the university logo on a T-shirt or poster. In many cases, final approval of use of a university logo/mark will only be made once the design of the proposed communication or promotional item can be made available. Designs must reflect established usage guidelines. Please note examples of incorrect usage.

Illustrations of Tuffy, the university's mascot, are created, managed and disseminated jointly by StratComm and Athletics. Tuffy is among official marks of the university. Members of the campus community may not create and use their own versions of Tuffy, and official Tuffy artwork is the only authorized CSUF elephant imagery outside of the formal elephant iconography used in Athletics' Titan shield.

Photography/Videography on Campus

For any "staged" promotional photography or videography using specifically identifiable individuals, you should secure written permission to obtain and use their image. Use of drones for videography is not authorized. Visit our photography section to download our campus model release form.
