Freelance Resources And Purchasing

Freelance Communications Professionals

Occasionally, there may be a need for outside freelance support when requested projects cannot be accommodated in the desired timeframe or when requested projects fall outside those supported by the department.

Strategic Communications and Brand Management may refer campus clients to freelance writers, designers, photographers, videographers and web professionals, or the department may manage the freelance professionals directly as an extension of the StratComm team or may make a complete referral to the campus client.

Regardless of the approach, the campus client is responsible for all costs associated with the use of a freelance professional, as well as all purchase order requests and processing of invoices. Freelance professionals are bound to applicable editorial, design and brand conventions outlined on brand.fullerton.edu. In addition, web professionals must adhere to the campus ATI accessibility requirements and use the campus OU web templates per campus policy.

Purchasing Guidelines

Strategic Communications and Brand Management may assist clients with their sourcing of print or promotional materials if needed. Quotes will be sourced from approved campus vendors and recommendations provided based on best value and fit for the project.

Client is responsible for all costs associated with their projects, and are responsible for submitting proper purchase order requisitions or Q numbers (for card purchases) as required by Contracts and Procurement. Clients will be provided invoices at the completion of their projects and are responsible for timely processing and payment.

Should clients source their own vendor support, files will be provided at the completion of the project and the clients will be responsible for any press checks, proofing, fulfillment and delivery of their projects.
